"He's the best player on the best team." Said in MVP race.

That's basically saying the best team deserves the MVP award, an award meant to reward the best individual. As for contributing to the debate about evaluating and choosing between players on different teams, it only says "this person is the best person on his team". Every MVP contender is of course the best player on his team.
Curry is going to be the MVP. :umad:

Two sports myths really piss me off, great thread topic by the way.
1. Barry Sanders had a bad O Line..thats BS..Im born and raised in Detroit and they alwayd had very good O Lineman. Since people often compared Emmitt to Barry, ppl on Barrys side would mention how much better Emmitts O Line was, somehow that turned into Barrys line was garbage, which wasnt true.

You must not have been paying attention tomost of the complaints lobbied at our team at the time. Our QBs sucked and they just stacked the box with 8 every game.
Gus Frerotte, Charlie Batch, Frank Reich, Don Majkowski, Scott Mitchell, Dave Krieg, Erik Kramer, Andre Ware, Rodney Peete, Bob Gagliano, Eric Hipple. This is the list of people that handed the ball off to Barry in the pros. Smack: Who are these nikkas mane?!

"Heart of a champion" was created to make people believe in an imaginary intangible that teams have who recently won a title.

So you can't underestimate this under any circumstances because it always comes back to haunt you somehow. It's not until that "champion" actually loses when we snap back to reality and accept that teams rarely repeat or experience dynasties.

Easily top five worst sport cliche.

"I'm not a fan of a team I'm a fan of the league"

"If I were a fan of <insert team> I would be pissed"

Man shut the fukk up, no one gives a shyt. If you only get to slander teams and their fans and they'll never be a chance for retaliation because you don't have one "you just a fan of the league" please kill yourself

The 313
another thing that has always bothered me is the idea of teams holding for the last shot (except in the 4th quarter)

I hate watching teams ignore an open lane, or passing up an open shot and ending up with a lower percentage shot just to get the last shot of the quarter

He's a "smart/ intelligent player "or higher basketball IQ

A academic study was done and it showed these type of comments were reserved most for non black players by commentators.
