For a lot of shyt that Bill Simmons gets (and rightfully so), he’s actually been really good to his employees as a lot of them speak highly of him even after leaving the company. You rarely find bosses like that these days.

With that said..... Spotify mainly wants The Ringer for the audio content, so what happens to the written content side of the site and its employees if the sale happens?

How he treats his employees has nothing to do with him being an annoying embodiment of white privilege. I fukk with the ringer though. But yes, he seems to treat his employees well.

You dump the written content. Willing to bet that their analytics for written pieces aren't worth what the writers are being paid. Spotify knows this.

I wonder how long will they keep the website up and running before they can it to focus on the podcasting side of things.

It'll get scrapped sooner than later. Spotify needs this to succeed. If it flops like the HBO property, he'll go down as a swindler who left media conglomerates holding the bag.
