A man who police say was suicidal and bipolar was arrested Saturday after he threw a knife from his second-story apartment balcony at an officer, nearly striking him.
Mark Daniel McKee, 46, of the 1000 block of Grand Teton Drive was charged with attempted assault of a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action.
Police responded to McKee's residence after a neighbor said he was making suicidal threats. McKee allegedly became agitated at the police presence and told officers that he had a knife and he also threatened to shoot them, police said.
He threw a knife directly at one of the officers, narrowly missing him, and got a second knife he threw in their direction, according to court documents. One of the knives was a butcher knife, police said.
McKee was taken into custody later peacefully. Bail is set at $30,000 cash-only in his case.
