You're not saying anything we don't know. We discussed this yesterday in the signing day thread

Sure on an individual basis, there is way too much potential to boom or bust to say the ratings mean a whole lot to confidently predict success for each player.

But at the team level, there is a strong correlation between your recruiting class rankings and your success on the field. The more 4* and 5* players you stock your roster with, the higher likelihood you'll be in the national title conversation and beat up on the teams who can only regularly pull 2* and 3* guys.

I don't know what is sillier... The 5 star metric for HS (Overachieving athlete playing against weak competition) or comparing the number of 5 star players in a Superbowl. Like atleast do something logical like compare how many 5 star recruits make the NFL...

Also keep in mind that there are only roughly 30 players in each high school class who get the 5-star rating.

So 3 players out of 106 (in the Super Bowl) comes out to roughly 3% .. Meanwhile the percentage of college players who come in as 5* is.. well...... negligible
