Fable Job Listings Suggest Game is Still a Long Ways Away

A game is only 2 years out with the brunt its development team just being hired a few months ago?

While there have been rumors that the game has been in production for while, some signs point to the opposite. Playground Games is still looking to add positions to the Fable teamsuch as Lead Audio Engineer, Lead AI Engineer, Lead Game Designer, Animation Director, and Lead Scriptwriter.

These are pretty significant roles in the creative process, so it seems that the team for the game is still forming. If this is the case, then the game is likely far behind the place in the production process that most fans assume it is. With this is mind, the game will probably not be coming out when the next-gen console releases like many were hoping.

Also, i don’t even think the development teams themselves can predict when games will be ready for release until they are finished with production. Supposedly Elden Ring wrapped production last year and have been in post production since.

If you tell me a game is coming out in 2023 I’ll expect in a year or so after

That article you posted was in August, we're in January, that was 4+ months ago.

The Fable studio(Playgrounds second team) was formed in February 2017, that was 3 years pre-covid. I understand we're in a pandemic, but I can't see them spending 7 years on Fable, by releasing it in 2024.

I think this drops in Fall '23, which gives them 6.5 years to develop, and 3.5 years to develop under covid(March '20 - October/Nov '23).

I'm not sure if Starfield drops this year or Perfect Dark drops in '23, but still '22 and on will be loaded for Xbox

Fallout 4 was revealed at E3 and released in the fall.

That’s usually how Bethesda releases their games.

2021 is very possible for starfield

Not to mention it's aquisition season for Xbox, so more studios bout to be copped
