Started watching King Richard and the "blaccent" is crazy

We're due for another Will Smith thread . But seriously I saw King Richard was back on HBO Max and started watching it last night. Had to bounce off like 20 minutes in. That accent they have Will Smith doing is crazy . Am I the only one who finds it distracting? I know the brother is from the south but c'mon. This is almost Concussion levels of absurdity. I'm still going to finish it since I've heard nothing but good things. Just a little tough because all I kept seeing was Will doing his best Dolemite impression. "Leave my daughters be, you jive Turkey" . I actually had the privilege of meeting Mr. Williams at the Family Circle Cup some years ago. Complicated dude but I still have an immense amount of respect for him.

I'm typically with you but Imma see it through. Something about the story resonates with me. But Will's casting is a bit distracting, can't lie. The slappening doesn't help.
