At-will or not, they know the lawsuits are coming. Citi is doing the same and withholding peoples bonuses. They can only get them if they sign waivers that say they won't sue.
People have sued for less, I just don’t see them winning. Companies are allowed to have requirements for employment. They’ve given adequate notice for this new requirement.

Withholding bonuses is a whole other can of worms…

What grounds do you have to sue when it's literally in your signed contract that either your or the company can end employment whenever and for whatever reason...........
any vaccination based discrimination claim would have already been bought by anti vax home schoolers who children couldn't go to public school. so what's the precedent to win here?

the new competitive edge will be remote work, that doesn't require vaccination. Those the jobs the most in demand ppl will be fighting over and the rest will have to put up with having to come into the office and being subject to shyt like this. I have an offer that's fully remote and just got off the phone with a recruiter that's offering fully remote and he had a whole portion of his spill that was basically "our employees will NEVER have to come into the office and can live anywhere" :ehh:

I'm fully vaxxed and boosted but personally I think firing people over vaccination status, when vax ppl still get and spread covid is kind of wild. Better to just limit in office requirements imo

Fully remote is the way. I'm interviewing for a few of those right now. My employer has banned unvaccinated people from entering our physical locations, but we're getting COVID cases left and right. Need to accept that no vaccine is going to stop this and bleeding talent over something silly like this doesn't help your company. It takes months, if not a year, to fully integrate someone from the outside into that role. That's not even mentioning the 100s of thousands it takes to onboard someone then waste time training them. We're not just talking about skills, but understanding of the culture and ability to work with the team. 4.5M people resigned in November. It is a job seekers market.

I have an unvaxxed team member who's been out for 2 weeks now after catching COVID, fukking things up for the rest of the team. Should companies just accept that a large portion of their workforce could be out for stretches of time at the same time - grinding things to a halt?

yea i don't understand the approach citi, jpmorgan and these other companies taking.
yall had a whole year and half to adjust to remote work, forcing ppl to come in to office is only going to leave you with mediocre talent that can't get a remote job or paying buco money to get talented people to put up with coming into a covid incubator everyday
