This......personal hygiene is a must I'm sorry, some folks come through emanating, trying to spar with a dude smelling rancid is not the wave.
:mjlol: I make my own skincare products so I stay smothered in essential oils and I wash thoroughly with the African Black soap.

@O Fenômeno @Hannibal Fox would it be overkill to sign up to a boxing gym as well? I already run and lift on my own. Trying to be righteous with the hands by end of year

If your body can handle it go for it but you could always go back and study either at a later date the choice is yours.

My knowledge of both arts isn't advanced enough to give you a satisfactory and well informed answer outside of I've always found trying to study two arts to be tricky, and it's best to give your undivided attention to one or the other.

@Julius Skrrvin @ExodusNirvana maybe you can advise the breh I know there are actual boxers on the forum that could help just can't remember their s/n and blackking is banned

Don’t go in there with a ego.
Go as much as possible.
Shadow box at home.

When sparring understand every time you receive a hit to the head it’s damaging your brain. That brain damage doesn’t go away, it compounds until it manifests itself into CTE.

So if you don’t plan on competing I wouldn’t be sparring everyday.

Side note I read a while back that the UFCs Donald Cerrone doesn’t spar anymore.

If you're trying to be righteous with the hands then it wouldn't be overkill...

I'm not an expert on either but from my understanding boxing will place more emphasis on footwork..

The stances will be different as well in muay thai because of kicking ..

To be honest muay thai seems to be more balanced because when you throw a well place kick you take the soul out of a dude with the quickness. Not to mention striking in the clinch, and elbows:wow:

I'm saving up so I can do the unlimited classes at my gym so I can do jiu jitsu and the muay thai..

Also I feel like boxing is more user friendly. Meaning in most cases I’ve seen, new boxers advance way faster than Thai fighters in skill.

Boxing’s footwork is undoubtedly unmatched in any combat sport.
When sparring Thai I’ve noticed my opponents are much more upright, slower, and can’t move real well.

Boxing on the other hand is lighting fast, and is chess with the footwork.

I will say if you major in boxing first with a minor in Thai its best.

Then once you hands are decent, switch your major to Thai with a minor in boxing. To develop your kicks knees and elbows.
