About 3-4 months ago I started a business service for Gamers. My specific target being African Americans. I don't want to be accused of trying to advertise so I'll leave it at that. I just finished my first ad marketing campaign via twitter and Facebook and thought the data might be of interest to some of the people here.

I'm going to data dump here then comeback later and do some interpreting after I've really looked over everything and give it serious thought.

thats a misnomer. There's tonnes of cute girls who play games. Its just there's STILL a stigma around them and most nikkaS aint checking for the games certain girls play...nay they aint playing Madden and 2k...

but they ARE playing Tales series. Other RPGs, RTS games and MMOs.

But @JONES what does it mean? Was this a traditional game (eg console and pc) or mobile?

As far as that gaming being non feminine my wife is a big gamer and is very feminine, my sister also likes to game on occasion and my Niece is very into bio ware RPGs

Exactly! it's not enough to know, you have to interpret that knowledge. It's usually the interpret part (I.E. "what does it mean"/imply) where people fall apart and start saying wired outlandish things.


Given the data, the only thing you can honestly gauge is general interest. Once you've determined an interest the next question would be "well, what kind of games does the demographic (black women) like". For that question I have no data either way. But I am curious now.

Example:

Was this a traditional game (eg console and pc) or mobile?

Those are exactly the kind of questions that you would ask at this point.
