What effect does prostitution have on the AIDS crises in America?

Does it increase the cases of AIDS? Would legalizing it in every state decrease the number of AIDS cases?

What about STD's as a whole?

But the question wasn't is it OK to pay for sex, it was about STD rates... I assume we agree that it's ok and some people need the services.
