Im pretty certain most waiters/waitresses get low hourly wages that are balanced out by tipping

Most waiter/waitresses make like 3 dollars an hour and the tips don't balance it out because most restaurants are only busy on the weekends or during the lunch hour which the "older" workers get those hours.

shyt Clarks treats their employees the same way and they sell shoes that are nothing less than a 100 a pop. Pay you 2.50 an hour and you have to grind to male the commission, if you aren't in a prime location you ain't making shyt.

servers and bartenders make less than min wage in essence because of tips. I'm all for legislation giving up tipping and letting them make min wage

Not sure how it is in the US, but they earn minimum wage here(obviously), and that's what they deserve, it's not a skilled job that deserves more.:yeshrug:

Only shytty servers complain about their money. I served at a fukking fast food restaurant and would regularly make $20-30 an hour when it was busy

Because it's not always on the server, usually if the service is bad, there's a problem in the kitchen on out. I mean the beverage thing is definitely on the waitress but the fukk up with food and the like are on the kitchen, which is why I would deal with the management who has more control over the problem. Now if the waitress is openly nasty, rude or pushy, then fair enough, if you decide not to leave a tip, but that's just me.

Bro, unfortunately the timing of the food is going to be connected to the waiter. the waiter can put the customer at ease by keep explaining why the food is taking long. They can offer free appetizers or take charges off the bill. That's what good service is.

But if they are not offering any time of explanation on why it's taking an hour to get food, then that's a problem. Waiters shouldn't feel obligated to get tips

Tipping is not mandatory, I hate when people post tip receipts or try to shame someone for not tipping.
Restaurants passing on their labor costs to the fukking whims of their customers.

The European system is so much better. Tipping isn't expected which makes a customer paying a little extra an actual tip.

Pay the waiters what they're worth and fire them if they suck, just like every other job on earth.

He ran up a pretty decent sized bill, so I'm assuming he was eating at a finer dinery which means the staff probably pulls a decent amount of money each day. I know a guy who makes $150 a day working at applebees, I'm sure whoever this was could pull more

I serve at high end restaurant on weekends, and honestly a lot off servers give shiit service to Black patrons, most already prejudge black patrons.

With me I put it like this, some folks tip, and some folks don't. It doesn't matter how great your service is, some folks just don't tip, and honestly it doesn't bother me.

Thats me right there, I always notice I always get the Black tables, but I love it tho. Because I never have a problem with my peoples, and by the end of their dinner, they laughing, having a great time.
