I didn't take it that way but he was basically saying how one of Steph's greatest characteristics is that the people closest to him, his friends and family love him even more than the public which can be rare for someone who's famous and accomplished something great.
but the truth is its never rare when Pg's win this award. same was said about nash when he won it. when you have a guy at a passers position. and he can score everyone will love him unless he's a big mouth a hole. jordan was a scorer, kobe was a scorer. magic was a passer(everyone loved him. like literally everyone). bird was a scorer that was also a great passer(everyone loved him). bron is a passer that can score most people loved him too. this aint new. the only people who may not be loved by all are the scorers that are born to score and are forced to become passers.

the ether
Random minor stat.

Lebron coming in #3 means that he's been top-3 in MVP voting for 8 years in a row. That ties Russell and Bird for the 2nd-longest streak ever.

Magic was top-3 in MVP voting for 9 straight years. Jordan would have had more if it wasn't for baseball.

And honestly, Bron's streak could have been longer (he was 2nd in 2006, 5th in 2007, and 4th in 2008 before the streak started). Being considered one of the top 3 players in the game every single year for nearly a decade straight, no matter who you played for, who your teammates were, injuries, outside circumstances, etc...that's just insane. Look at Durant - he's in his prime and going to go down as one of the greatest small forwards ever, and he's still only managed to crack the top-3 in MVP voting in 3 of the last 6 years.
