Yes, those were Tom Jackson's exact words. He basically said that the Seahawks organization felt Lynch had embarrassed them all throughout Superbowl week with those interviews, so they decided to not give him the ball and just let Russell make a play. He said you can tell that was the case because Lynch had been carving the Pats up all game, and had just ran the ball from the 5 to the 1 on that 1st down play before the interception.
