What I wonder with y’all who make fun of this, in your view of Black advancemen, what happens to the hundreds/thousands of original people that live in O-Block? Do the minority of ball throwing nikkas just move to Atlanta and open a towing company?

If that’s the case it’s more to Chicago than O block he could go to bronzeville, he could go to englewood, south shore, Hyde Park, Pullman/Roseland, out west by Isaiah and his people. This had nothing to do with reaching out to communities and everything to do with clout

The greatest of “clout” will always be acceptance from your social group as an advocate or representative.this is why we exalt people with statues and portraits.
Englewood is a historic Black neighborhood the same way Bronxeville is and weighing one as more deserving on a Black outreach basis is the exact same thing as pretending Oblock represents ALL of Chicago. What it does represent though, is one of the most visible and underserved communities of Original people, housing a mural to brother that died too soon of the same politics that rule Englewood NOW. The young nikkas out there need to see him much more than they do in Pullman.
AGAIN, what yall otherwise are saying is that no Black person with money should ever go there and we should essentially treat MILLIONS of able bodied blacks as tho they don’t exist.
if Leonardo Do Caprio or some shyt came to O Block and took pictures with the kids, would you get angry he didn’t go to Bronzeville?
