The Infamous World's End Houses
In a futuristic society, all boys at a certain age have to walk...they cannot stop, only get food and water as they walk...the minute a boy stops, he is immediately shot dead...the race is over when only one boy is left alive. No matter how long they walk, they can never stop or die..Each town in the future society does this and King was the first to write about this type of future population control/fascist society outside of George Orwell. Powerful book and will fukk with your mind

Sounds good. I might have to check it out. I haven't read any King recently. He's one of the greatest American novelists.

Gang violence...
I dunno. I think ghostly spirits like IT are way freaking scarier than some guy going around chopping everybody up.

My favourite horror movies are:

IT
The Shining
Nightmare On Elm Street

Although Nightmare on Elm Street is more of a slasher film, like the ones you like, than the other 2 mentioned.
since i dont believe in the supernatural, it is harder for me to feel any palpable fear in movies about ghosts, whereas threats based on things that are grounded at least partially in more natural occurrences are more disturbing to me.

that being said, when executed well, any horror movie is a good one to me. the exorcist is still great even though i never feel any type of way when it comes to demonic possession. the depiction of the "monster", the acting, the script, the directing are firing on all cylinders

My favorite too. They are re making it just like the book. The director is the same director of True Detective. It will be 2 movies.

Nice. I know the remake has been in the works for a while. Hopefully they'll do a better job this time around. Although I still think the 1st one was great, it didn't do that much justice to the book.

Specially when Stan met the dead kids at the water tower. They skipped that part and replaced it with Stan meeting the mummy. But when Stan met the dead kids at the water tower, that was scary as shyt!!!

i have it on blu ray but i dont bring it out often for re-watching. it's hard to get people to want to watch it.

Cause they're scared or cause they find it boring?

As a kid I thought it was pretty boring, but as a man and a believer I find that whole devil shyt scary as fukk. I don't even like watching it at all cause it don't seem like fantasy to me.

The IT book is crazy. Top 5 stephen king. I read it every 5 years or so. Definitely needs to be filmed as a 10-13 part miniseries. You could still do it on cable and get away with most of the violence and language (except the Bev train :shaq:). I guess two 2.5 hour movies would be ok if they are done well.

Agree with others though that The Stand is my favorite King book. They had a good idea doing it as a tv miniseries but I just cant get into it. The casting is too far off from what i imagined when i read the book. Everyone is too young or too old for the parts and it was mostly cheesy. Cant wait for a remake of that too.

do you think knowing the story already would make the book less entertaining to read?
