Stevie Ray felt that if he went to WWE Vince wouldn't destroyed his character.
He didn't want to do a shuckin and jivin gimmick (New Day)
He didn't want to look like a porch monkey (I.e. Booked T's feud with HHH)
He didn't want to look weak. (i.e. Booker T getting beat up by Stone Cole in the grocery store)

It was hard watching Book getting screwed by HHH. I think that what made me stop watching for awhile. I came back for Daniel Bryan's epic run and for Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas and left again. I miss Umaga

Theres a chance booker gets booked stronger with stevie as his muscle but also a chance they keep him in tag team hell and he never gets a run of that magnitude at all
