Stevie Wonder Reacts to Zimmerman Trial Verdict - YouTube

While performing in Quebec City on July 14th 2013, Stevie Wonder reacts to the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial that followed the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He declares he will not perform in Florida as long as the Stand-your-ground law isn’t revoked there, or anywhere else in the world with such a law.

Stevie Wonder said:

“I’ve decided today that until the stand your ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again. Wherever I find that law exists I will not perform in thatstate or that part of the world…you can’t just talk about it, you’ve got to be about it”

Spoken like a serious man. I bet no rapper is gonna put his money where his mouth is like Stevie, and stop performing in Florida/Miami.

C'mon now. Whats harder, a legendary musician whos money is straight and legacy etched in stone skipping out shows he doesn't even need to do or a rapper trying to make a name for himself?

Come on breh. Ray Charles refused to play in front of segregated crowds in the late 50s and 60s. I don't wanna hear shyt about rappers in 2013 being afraid of fukking their money up. Performers back in the day were putting their entire LIFE on the line to stand up for what they believed in.
