Stolen beat rant

I'm more upset about this than I should be. Another reason all my accounts are private and I just drop links. Someone jacked another beat I made. And filmed!!!!!!! Not just uploaded Willy nilly, but ripped the audio from my video. Then Google hits me with a copyright claim.

I did/do this shyt for fun.

I've got nothing but time and money I might fight this dude legally.

Dude doesn't even appear to rap anymore. Might be a waste of my time, but it's the principle. He probably just chose a beat I'd have to do some diggin to find out who "produced" it, or who took credit for it.

It was from a sample kit, however I added effects and put it together. It's not like I just played 1 sound over and over, I put the sounds together for the loop with effects, added bass, did all the drums myself. It's nothing big, wasn't some grand production, but for Google to hit me with a copyright infringement on my shyt is like....c'mon

Its happened before. Im 100% sure someone has ripped the audio off your YouTube channel and claimed it as their own.

You are socially connected with a lot of the same cats I am, and I'll get messages, emails from cats saying "yo did you sell this beat?" "Hey, I think someone stole your beat" or "either you stole this dudes beat, or he stole yours."

Usually someone just tells me and we laugh about it, cause it ain't a big deal. But Google hitting me with the copyright on my own page rubs me the wrong way.

firstly, that's a bummer. I'm sorry you gotta go through this; HOWEVA, look at it like a lesson. You stated this happened "again"? Maybe you gotta be more protective. I think if you upload your beats through TuneCore and services like that, they get you a YT ID thingy (forgot the official name of it).

You can get a yearly TuneCore subscriptiion for $10 and upload unlimited tracks.

Worst case scenario, you can tell you're on the right track. Dudes don't steal wack beats. So you could look at it that way.
