Stone Cold vs Roman?

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, amid rumors that The Rock might not be coming back for WrestleMania, WWE internally pitched a potential match between “Stone Cold'” Steve Austin and Roman Reigns, the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Sapp reports that Austin’s side was approached about the possibility, and the match would be for an “enormous” amount of money.

Fightful previously reported that WWE approached Austin in the summer of 2022 with an offer that he didn’t find as financially “appealing”. Sapp cited sources who indicated that they didn’t know whether the recent offer was accepted, while another source noted that another “big name” had been offered months ago.

Sapp also wrote that, as reported by WrestlingNews.co, the plann as of December would see Reigns face Cody Rhodes in one world title match at WrestleMania, while Rhodes or Drew McIntyre would face Seth Rollins in the other. It’s unclear whether these plans have changed.

Austin/Roman doesn't really have that great a story too unless it would be a toughest SOB goes at the tribal chief. But you'd have to suspend your belief crazy to ignore Austin's age.

Austin/Cena seems like the easy big match to do.

Then again, Austin/Cena was always the big match and Rock took that so would be funny if Austin took the Reigns match lol

Would be a fun random match in Saudi Arabia. Do not want to see this for Wrestlemania or anything that matters. Zero history or storyline here. Roman's storyline is too big at this point to ruin it with this

Roman already solidified himself with the run beating Austin wouldn’t do much imo. Yeah, Austin the GOAT, but beating a man who close to 60 won’t really do much. I mean it’s WWE though, if it were to happen they’d make it seem like it was needed for Roman.
