Stop Telling Me “I’m a Real NI99A!!!”

Is that phrase embarrassing to hear from an adult?

I work in sales. Today I had to deal with a dude that wanted something for nothing. What I sell isn’t important, but it’s not cheap. No not cars. So anyway, this dude got frustrated with me and told me

:damn:Customer: “I’m a real nikka... I’ve been stabbed, shot, sold drugs, did time!!!”

:snoop: Me: “What does that have to do with anything we’re talking about!”

I was legit embarrassed, then insulted that he’d resort to that in a financial discussion. How old is too old to say something so stupid?

What exactly does that mean? I mean, I understand what people think it means, but if you really think about it...

:patrice:

Why would you choose to be that as an adult?

I find it Hilarious!

Every now and then i'll hear black people say that. I'm not even sure what it means, or what they mean by it, honestly :manny:
But to be fair i've been around rednecks and heard them argueing about who's a real "cowboy" so...
You have to imagine i was once minding my own business and overheard a redneck utter the following VERBATIM when i was in the army at Fort Campbel:
"I'm a real Cowboy. Y'all out here are a bunch of fake cowboys. Some of y'all only wear your cowboy suits on SundEE (sunday)" :russ:
They were dead serious too. I died laughing that day :mjlol:

The Truth
some negros can’t let go of the 90’s and early 2000’s

None of that means anything to me... maybe he was an ex-con and he thought that meant you should fear him on some ex-con shyt

That’s basically how he valued his self-respect and think you should’ve hooked him up out of respect of him being from the streets

I would of been on alert waiting for the reply from the fake cow boy expecting a possible sun down shootout

OP..

I would only consider that statement to be embarrassing if the person said it out loud around mixed company.

The statement itself isn't embarrassing, but I would be curious in knowing why he would say such a thing to me unless he felt that I was questioning his manhood or felt that I was trying to get over on him??

Seems like some dudes believe that being a street nikka=real nikka. I would say that isn't necessarily true.

Being a real one doesn't mean someone who is in the streets because a lot of street people make dumb choices or lack common sense just like their so called square counterparts.

Realness is relative as well as arbitrary. What one deem real may be something else to someone else and vice versa. Perhaps, the dude in question was having a bad day and was trying to prove something?

shyt beyond lame

Being "real" means keeping it 100 even when it doesn't fit your narrative or self image

That eliminates at least 97% of Western society

Being tough doesn't have anything to do with it. Most tough dudes are playing a role they're really not because of peer pressure/media influence. That's the complete opposite of being "real".
