cuz sometimes u get to the point where you give them a number and they be on that BS dont answer phone and u waste your time be like could of just got at somebody else instead

But when u give yours out u could just do it to multiple people a little bit more easier and be like here my number and if she feels you call and then go to the next one immediately you can keep convo short instead of trying to talk so damn much just to get it cuz there are times where it happens so keep it short give her your number and bounce to next one

dude is right though, it can give off a bad impression... in all fairness, when i DO use this method, to counteract any negative connotations, I'm usually real aggressive in terms of telling her to take down my number and to hit me up... shytttt half the time, I'll take her phone from her and put my number in it and tell her she better hit me up or else lol, that way she doesn't confuse me for one of these "well sweetheart, maybe you should take my number down and, I suppose, text me if you ever feel like it" duck ass dudes with low self esteem
