Ok so don't laugh at me. I've started taking some classes at Strayer, this is actually my 2nd quarter. I used to be a tech at Comcast and I learned a ton of shyt (hooking up routers, troubleshooting, installation etc.) So I enrolled here and all of the classes are fukking virtual. My first class was CIS 106 (901 portion of the A+ cert). Man this entire program is on a fukking computer. No hardware whatsoever. Nothing hands on. That 106 class had us putting together a motherboard on a fukking program called TestOut. I feel like shyt taking these classes because in my mind, how in the fukk do I actually apply this bullshyt on the real world? I know some of you cats gonna have something funny to say please do but atleast follow the shyt up with some knowledge or advice. Peace

As long as you are gaining skills, it does not matter if it is a virtual lab.

Make sure you add what you learn to your resume.

It may not be worth it to pay tuition just for access to Testout. You can just sign up for Testout on your own and save the difference.

Sidebar: Is Strayer a For-Profit? If so; I recommend you look at other schools. Check out UMUC. They have a lot of IT degrees to choose from and they are accredited.

My benefits expire January 2019. And the thing is you cannot transfer these credits because of the Middle States accreditation

what do you mean ? credits at a CC wont transfer, or the strayer courses wont transfer ?

So, in conclusion, is yes to online IT courses or is it no?
It's classroom but everything is online. There is nothing hands-on. They use UCertify instruction. Shyt is crazy. You learn some things but for the most part all the work is on a computer. Virtual motherboards and shyt. I feel like I need to buy hardware
