My mother is a doctor and she hates these pharmaceutical folks who comes to the hospital. She stated that even violated HIPAA several times by busting in during surgeries and shyt while a patient might be nude and exposed being worked on or in the middle of some invasive procedure. Imagine you're a doctor and trying to save lives and you have the equivalent of a used car salesman over your shoulder trying to get you to agree to use their drugs. They are constantly buying them lunch or wanting to take them out to dinner. The shyt is bad.

Two things should be made illegal: trying to lobby for certain drugs in hospitals and also direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical advertising which rightfully didn't exist before the 90s. Most Pharma companies will say that research and development is why US drug prices are so high when most of their money is actually spent on advertising and most big companies don't develop these drugs in house. The usually buy smaller orgs and just take control of their patents.

:dahell: is wrong with them? How did they even get thru security? Can't imagine being half naked on an operating table and having someone come up trying to sell me something. They need their ass kicked. :francis:

Kind of underscores some of the reasons why the opioid epidemic expanded after 2010, and the medical industries culpabilities there.
Yeah it's crazy with the opioid epidemic now. I work for an insurance company and they put a restriction on the amount of opioid a person can initially get. Was watching this documentary called Prescription Thugs on Netflix recently and it was very interesting, talking about the whole opioid crisis. It's a few years old I believe but think it's still relevant today.
