Tracked Out, unlike our now longstanding Bless The Booth series where artists step foot in our studio and let loose bars in an on-the-spot freestyle format, focuses on the creative process. Artists join us at Audiomack Studios to build with an engineer, producer, etc. and create a brand new song from scratch. Once a record is wrapped, we sit down with the artist to discuss the entire experience in an effort to better understand how they approached the session and how the record came to life.
Oh, and once we're all done, the end result is a full, original, exclusive record for our readers to enjoy!
Enter Stro, the Brooklyn-born and raised emcee formerly known as Astro, formerly signed to Epic Records and current independently and just waiting for the day when mainstream radio will actually play independent artists on-air. He's also a Bless The Booth veteran with lyrics for days, as further evidenced by "Tell Me When To Go." (No, not the one with E-40 and Keak Da Sneak.) Producer Cassius G is the man responsible for providing the hypnotic production, while J Rich, primarily a trap engineer who's worked with the likes of Lil Yachty and Makonnen, notches a beautiful assist on this very New York-sounding effort.
Take a dive inside the mind of Stro as he crafts a brand new track from scratch, make sure to listen to the full track below via Audiomack, and stay tuned for the next Tracked Out with Kweku Collins.
