That's what I'd imagine, but tbf the related threads thing here throws up suggestions from folk saying that if you leave it realllll late as in hours before folks get 2:30am saturday desperate. Doubtful with two quality teams in this market, but who knows. Also there is the fact that seats aren't available in every section, which seems arbitrary so I'd assume that more will go on.

Because closer to the game people want to get rid of the tickets if they haven't sold them yet so prices will dip a little bit. That's been my experience generally. But really you have to check every day.

Far in advance, the prices are inflated. Like Penfield says, you have to keep watching the prices. They'll likely stay flat until around 2-4 weeks prior. Then they typically start dropping. How far they drop will depend on the demand for that game. They can also spike even after dropping if tix start selling like crazy.
Generally, if it's not a marquee game (like Bron returns to Miami, or laker v Celtics when they're good) I'd say the sweet spot is around one week prior for good games. For bad games, def the day of.

Ticket prices plummet the last hour before the game starts. People will take what they can get instead of nothing.
Man I got preseason NFL tickets the day of for $5 a piece.

Like a couple other people said, just wait. The tickets that go on stubhub before the season even started are hyper-inflated. This early, season ticket holders still have it in their mind that they can go to any game on the schedule so in order for them to part with the ticket they need an absurd amount of money, especially when the game is between two playoff teams. As you get closer to game day those folks will have shyt come up on their schedule, so they wont be able to make the game. Then they will be trying to at least get something for the ticket instead of eating it.
Even with that being said, thats a Saturday game and tickets on the weekend dont really drop in price. You wont pay the ridiculous inflated price but its gonna be well above face value. Your best bet for getting a decent deal on seats is for a game during the week, when some of those ticket holders cant make it due to work or kid obligations.

Cheers, I'm only gonna be in LA for a few days max and I don't really mind paying a bit anyway but would def rather see two quality teams rather than lob city roll over the magic or some other bottom feeders.
