Study: Black dogs don't get adopted as often as dogs with lighter coats

DM - Black dogs don’t get as adopted as easily as others animals of other colors. The reason is largely because of some common misconceptions about them. Black dogs are mischaracterized as mean and potentially violent according to NBC News. Black Dog Syndrome is a phenomenon in which dogs with black fur often go unadopted because of misinformed stereotypes. Black dogs are are euthanized at a much higher rate than dogs with different complexions. Many owners of black dogs say they are sweet, lovable, but also unwanted. The chances of being adopted are poor if you’re a black dog.

German Shepards and Rottweilers come to mind, but labs and chihuahuas probably get more adoptions because they're soft and p*ssy.

I was at the dog shelter today. Darker dogs are just more intimidating to a lot of people. Take a dark brindle black eyed pit bull, next to a light fawn hazel eyed pit bull, and people will find the latter more appealing. Well most people will, at least. I like dark brindle and black though.

I know Brazillian Jiujitsu so i dont need people to fear me. Ive seen Armenian G's walking around with weiner dogs so i think having a dog that makes you look tough is overrated. A dog just needs to have nice floppy ears and a cute face.

Rotweilers are overrated facially. These black labs are a lot more pleasing to the eye.
