Yall are making a lot of conclusions based on a 10-20% discrepancy in these polls.

For context, we're making conclusions because they asked 10 people of each race, and 9 Hispanics said it's important, 8 black people said its important and 7 white people said its important

How are they gonna get 22% out of 10 people?

I was just using the number 10 to simplify it, I'm sure the poll is much more in depth than that.

By using 10 we can step back and look at what the equivalent really is; it's basically 8/10 black people compared to 6-7/10 white people.

There is a difference but the conclusions being drawn here make it seem like only 30% of white people see college as important, and that's just not true.

Too bad many of us (young blacks) are too busy begging white people from killing us (Black Lives Matter) or begging them for acceptance (#OSCARSSOWHITE [ and they did that nonsense two yrs in a row to no avail--the nominees go whiter]).

To me, go forward; if it ain't about independent economic infrastructure, any black social movement is a failure.

I'm tired of beggin for acceptance.

Conclusions that can be easily drawn from observation.

I grew up in lily white suburbia and went to predominatly white schools from K-12 all throughout college so i saw alot of what im talking about and whats been discussed here first hand.

Y'all forgetting they the majority of this country.
y'all dont even realize how many areas in america there are that are almost 100% white that they can find work in.
i never wanna hear a white person complain about shyt again...

Honestly I hated college but i got that degree to fall back on. I can say its worthless. I make my money in other avenues. But still i can fall back on it.

Anectdotal evidence is cool, but you can't use just that to make broad conclusions.

And just so we're on the same page here, did you really just create 'evidence' out of white people easily getting jobs in environments that are 100% white..? Because that's how you phrased it..

I went to college and worked in my field for going on 8 years. Now I'm doing something else, but the degree got me started, and the experience in the job market I got from it is priceless at this point. It's just a starting point and you move up and move on eventually.

I think white people have a substantially better shot at finding good employment than black people. I also think that not getting that college degree hinders a white person's job prospects less than it does for a black or Hispanic person.

What I don't think, is that white people as a whole have collectively agreed that they can get by on white privilege and nepotism, so they've decided that college can kick rocks and they won't emphasize the importance of higher education to their children. That's essentially the conclusion being drawn in this thread.

White privilege definitely exists, in spades. But I think for the average individual white person, you're severely oversimplifying his or her process.
