I'm from a predominately black suburb. We had two types of people.
1. People who were honest about their background. People who didn't try to act any type of way, and just lived in line with their upbringing.
2. People who could not handle the fact they weren't from the trenches. Acted like idiots, embarrassed their families, and ran down to Detroit every weekend to get beat up, tossed through windows, and shot at like it was some kind of tradition.
Ironically enough...I did hang out in the hood with some people who worked for my old man. They called me shyt like "JCpenny" and joked about me being from the burbs, but it was light hearted ribbing type shyt. No one ever really gave me anything serious to worry about because I didn't try to act any type of way. We'd just hit up Omni...(Detroit nikkas know)...Smoke a little, mess with the hoes, and that was really about it.
