A shackled Suge Knight hobbled into court Wednesday and revealed he had emergency surgery for a "busted" appendix this month.
The Death Row Records founder clutched his stomach and grunted in pain as he also described an abscess near his colon that needs tricky surgery or a catheter to his heart for antibiotics.
"I'm not good at all," Knight told Judge Ronald Coen as he made the rare move of addressing the court directly.
"I was in real pain for like three weeks," he said. "They finally took me over to the clinic (because) I told the sergeant I can't stand up or move. …My appendix was busted."
Knight, now fighting separate felony cases alleging murder and robbery, said doctors found the abscess but said it was "too close to my colon" for an easy draining procedure.
He said doctors wanted to put a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) to his heart to try and clear it up with heavy antibiotics, but they explained he would have to keep it clean to avoid further infection.
Knight claimed a jail official told him he "could just snatch it out" — meaning the PICC line — if he was taken back to a non-sterile jail cell for recovery.
Judge Coen instructed Knight to work with his lawyers and take the alleged problem directly to the jail's chief physician.
"I'm very worried," Knight's fiancee Toi Kelly told the Daily News outside court. "Jail isn't fun for anybody, but these are major medical conditions. He needs to be in a sterile environment to properly heal."
Kelly brought the couple's 6-year-old son Legend to court to possibly see his dad from the gallery, but Judge Coen ordered the child remain outside.
Knight has been locked up for more than a year on charges he ran over two men with his truck — killing one of them — outside a burger stand in Compton in January 2015.
He has pleaded not guilty and claims he was the victim of an armed ambush.
The hearing Wednesday involved his separate felony robbery case stemming from the alleged 2014 theft of a photographer's camera in Beverly Hills.
Comedian Katt Williams is his co-defendant in the case. Both men have pleaded not guilty.
Knight said Wednesday he wants to move on with the case but feels hampered in his defense by stringent jail restrictions banning phone calls and visits with anyone other than his lawyers.
Judge Coen said Knight had to pursue those grievances with another judge on another floor because there was a "firewall" insulating Coen from the strict protective order governing his jail stay.
The judge set June 21 as the next hearing for the robbery case.
As Knight prepared to leave, Judge Coen urged him to take better care of himself.
"Start working out," he suggested.
"Yes your honor," Knight, 50, said and then shuffled out.
