Suggestion: go to hip hop shows of established artists you don't really like / are unsure of off gp (any good surprise concerts you've attended?)

Last night saw DELTRON 3030 in Seattle on the pier, gorgeous night, and was very impressed by the show. They performed their entire first album...shyt was dope, del is of course a lyricist (shyt was A LOT OF LYRICAL MIRACLES of course...just rappin ass rap but dope and the crowd loved it) but moreso, this is the point of the thread and other shows I've gone to...

We got artists who have been on tour for 25+ years off and on....they're pretty fukkin good at this shyt. They can rock the crowd, feed the audience, pace it right, are USUALLY prompt, great DJs etc.

Any other surprise good concerts you've been to?

I’d recommend seeing Chiefrocker Busy Bee if you can. Whatever you think of him as a rapper he is naturally magnetic with the microphone and sounds impeccable
