Suggestions for capturing Xbox game play to PC

My son is looking to capture his online game play for Youtube. I have an Elgato HDS that he can use. His first try ended up with a smooth capture, but the real time game play wasn't smooth, laggy that affected his results.

The PC:
Standard video card (GeForce GT 710)
Ryzen 5
32G Ram

Will a strong graphics card fix this issue?

I just tested this for him. The gameplay was fine, he had the settings too high. I did see a little pixelation, but we can tweak that. @Hood Critic Your question about the settings fixed it for me.
