I think the "strides" are very smoke and mirrors. You'll be hard pressed to find any directors, managing directors, and damn sure any executive directors in finance and banking. Especially outside of operations. African-Americans especially have a hard time. At the same time, opportunities are there to make money, regardless of the glass ceiling, so I see your point.

A former employer can verify your employment dates, salary, and in some instances if they would rehire you - only a 'Yes' or 'No'.
Nowadays, a lot of employment verification is automated though.

Right I rather be a six figure business owner over an employee anyday of the week. I currently work for the city of NY and do real estate but I will never accept a job at Wall Street.

oddly enough the agency I work for is probably 90% White. All the planners are white, and city planning tends be a very white career. Oddly enough the white people I work with are thirsty for diversity and have denied white applicants for minority applicants. That's mainly because they are scared to enter black communities with planning ideas due to blacks questioning gentrification.

six figures aint a lot of money. hell I make $100K now and I'm low on the management totem pole. my job isn't super stressful. hell i can still bs on here.

i do have a limit to how high I want to climb tho. my goal is to never have the company own my time outside of work. once you get to director level you pretty much are on call 24/7​

That's real these nerds in tech have a huge chip on their shoulder from being passed up and not getting the girls they wanted so they power trip over everything and try to demean everyone around them whether it be through race, status, or financials to try and patch up their bitterness by being domineering over people who can't really do shyt to them.

They hate cool kids they hate dudes that can get women they hate social competence.

They see black men as having all of these traits so the hate levels they have for brehs are off the chart.

I'd much rather work with good ol boys in finance than tech nerds nerds are insufferable.

I agree with this. The AA experince is very unique.
