The lyrics in these rap songs are basically hate speech. And lets be real if these were white singers singing about murdering black men we would be marching in the streets and demanding these record labels drop these artists.

I don't know shyt about the legal process but can someone explain why this wouldn't be possible to do? Couldn't we technically file lawsuits againts record labels that promote artists who have hate speech in their lyrics?

Black folks aren't in the protected group and rap music is extremely profitable, so there's zero percent chance that rap will be labeled as hate speech

you could find an attorney willing to do it as a way to raise his profile.

It would be interesting to see how this plays out. Give your local Lionel Hutz a call and let us know how it goes, after all he took on the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising with his suit against the film "The Neverending Story".

Throw in a claim for moral distress as well because you bought both versions of the Blueprint 2 but neither of them contained the promised flutes and neither were they unleashed, contrary to what was claimed by said artiste.

Seriously though, its crazy what passes as "entertainment" these days and you've got a good case here as you can prove so much about the behind the scene things when it comes to certain edited verses vs what was allowed to pass etc...

Because it's not their fukking job to do that, it's our fukking job to stop making hate music.Got damn where the fukk is the accountability?

The accountability is in coming after the record labels too because they're the one that controls what goes out and they're the ones cutting the checks for this kind of music.

No I see more threads on the labels prompting the damn music than the people making the music. I don't give a shyt about that tbh. Rappers don't need record labels to make death music. Most of them young savages ain't even signed to a label.

how is it racial hate speech when in the same song and probably most of the time they are showing love to other black men, making songs with other black men, glorifying other black men, etc. a simple "in context" argument would destroy this whole case :russell:

I'm not the one making the damn music. Lol.

We can't stop a rapper making music about murdering black people but we might be able to fukk up their money. And in this capitalist system the only way to effect change is to target one's ability to make profit.

????
The world just witnessed watchdog groups and powerful members of an ethnic group bully an athlete for liking/promoting a documentary.

Not for saying/writing a slur, or using hateful language or symbols.

How are you writing this with a straight face?

I feel where you are coming from bro but I have some devastating news for you:. Black people themselves don't find the music offensive. :wow:

Black people call this music that celebrates, glorifies and normalizes black death "just entertainment".

I challenge you right now to make a thread denouncing this type of music and I guarantee that black posters will flood the thread negging you, hurling insults at you and telling you how wrong you are.

Record labels can only put this filth out...... because we accept it. We sing & dance along to it.

They would never put out a J*wish rapper rapping about spinning the block on other J*ws because that type of content isn't acceptable in their culture.

That type of music has to become unacceptable in the black community first OP.

Most gangsta rappers aren't making money from labels. It's performances, collabs, etc. There are thousands and thousands of kids on youtube making murder music. So you can shut down every record label in the country and you'd still see the shyt and it'd be easily accessible. These kids aren't finna start listening to gospel rap if labels stop putting out gangsta music. They will find a way to hear what they like.
