All I could think of when watching this was how many other great performances have been lost in time.

This was really dope. The renditions of some of the tracks played at the Harlem Soul Festival, Nina Simone being my standout, were so lovely. Thought the editing was the biggest highlight of it all with everything just feeling so….balanced. It was never overwhelming and I feel like other docs have that problem. Chills…absolute CHILLS with that ending.

A Questlove Jawn - Homie better keep that. :wow:

Anyone see it yet? Thoughts?

It's straight up beautiful. Just the sea of black folks coming together peacefully and loving one another. Black pride film on 100 :wow:

I wish it was longer. Felt like they left a lot on the cutting room floor. Wish they would have gone a little more in depth of how they really got it to all pop off but other than that it was great.
Shoulda been either an hour longer or a minidocuseries IMO.

But amazing beautiful doc. Every black person should see this to show what we once were.

I could watch The Pips dance all day
They were perfect
Don’t focus on Gladys to see what I’m talking about

I do wonder what a whole day of film looks like. I’m thinking most of it was not good or maybe a lot of local Harlem acts no one knows and Quest just pulled the performances of the known acts.
