So progressive policies and centrist policies lead to thousands of seats being lost? Guess we might as well all become conservatives
Yes ACA was a gift but also a curse that not only led to losing seats around the country but also revolutionized the tea party

Having a black president leads to thousands of seats being lost due to white voters fleeing the party. :yeshrug:

I wish Obama would've been more progressive but it wouldn't have prevented that.

At the time he lost those seats noone was calling him a centrist or a moderate.
Democrats were smitten, and Republicans were calling him a communist muslim terrorist.
Just goes to show it doesn't matter how you're labled, republicans will go off the deep end anyway

Maybe the Democratic Socialist tag doesn't matter as much as we thought:ehh:

White voters didn't flee the party (they left in the 70s and 80s). You are the most defeatist and fact-ignoring poster here. If I listened to you or anyone I know did, we would never turn out to vote.

The midterm elections after Obama got elected saw one of the lowest youth turnouts and it happened against in n2014, which was a record low. In other words, all the energy died down and Democrats stayed home. It's not that complicated. Your theory works in like 25 swing districts. That doesn't account for a historic turnaround. Also, Obama was dealing with a recession. You don't tend to do well during a recession or crisis - ask Bush about 2006.

DNC also was flush in cash but bleeding out to consultants and grifters left and right while state parties were decimated after Howard Dean's tenure ended.
