It's an expansion.
They give you 3 hearts now? And you can do a series of levels to get a new mod? I heard it has permadeath and procedual generation but I haven't seen that yet. I managed to keep my lives and get an upgrade.
It's pretty fire so far. If you bought it, you should get it for free. I just got a message with my code today like 3 days after launch.
