He cared about saving people and that his shown at the beginning and in the flashbacks.

By the time he is fighting the three kryptonians, you are looking at someone who is brand new fighting three military vets with the same powerset as him and who was one his ass and dictating the flow. In Superman (2025) you are looking at someone with three years experience.

Posted this in the Man of Steel thread and I think it does a good job of summing it up
It just highlights the contradiction in the film yes he saved people from the oil rig but in moments of crisis he didn’t look like he cared about the mass causality occurring around him. Like I said if we go by what is depicted in the movies then he can hear all the death around him and yet doesn’t visually attempt to save anyone. Forget his previous actions in the movie I am talking about when death was occurring all around him why didn’t he make an active effort to try and save people.

Then miraculously he cares about a family of three. There is even a part in the film where Zod throws an oil truck at him and he simply just leaps past it and lets it slam into a building letting the building collapse. Prior to this scene we see a large amount of civilians around watching the battle between him and Zod so we know people are still about. All Snyder had to do was depict him actually trying to stop the damage or minimise it. Hell despite being overwhelmed Snyder could have shown that he was still thinking of the people and still trying that would have made him Superman. A lack of experience doesn’t excuse his inaction as it’s based on character. Why is it a normal man can run into a burning building to save a random stranger? Some individuals just have that ability to act Superman embodies that despite the overwhelming odds of what’s transpiring he still tries key word being tries.

Yeah kind of threw me off, especially Ma Kent who comes across as a little slow. Hoping for better interpretations of the character.
Martha Kent's Southern-ass accent threw me off. Also, them being so old-looking and flabby :flabbynsick:

Further, we didn't see enough of the Kents, so Jonathan being so "mushy" towards Clark didn't hit for me :hubie:

Zack Snyder basically made a Batman version of him, from his musings to the press one can infer he hates Superman and only took the opportunity because of the financial incentive.

Later in a meeting involving the Man of Steel sequel he suggested to Warner Bros let's throw in Batman in there, and that is how we got Batman vs Superman.

Funnily enough it was Nolan who recommended him to WB to helm Superman lol.

Should he have been given Batman sure I guess but he also made a point that his version of Batman would get sodomised in a prison cell... Make of that what you will.
