First time I heard bro was summer '93, on Stretch and Bobbito. Dude was rapping over The Alkaholiks' beat for "Make Room". Then Stretch switched the beat to a Masta Ace joint and Supernat did this sh*t where he was rapping like he was underwater. LOL!! Sh*t was incredible.
I still have that whole freestyle on my phone, after digitizing it from an old cassette.
