I love sushi one day I want to go to Japan and actually go to a master chef's sushi joint over there just to witness the authentic shyt.
Sushi gotta be a top 5 deceptively good food.

You know I’ve never been a huge fan. The issue is in UK you rarely get them but in Japan they’re everywhere and staple food. My Mrs barely makes them unless we say tripping.
But generally too much rice for me! My favourite are sweet ones actually, then a tuna mayo. Family Mart onigiri are tiers above what we have in the west.
If it had a strong fish flavor you probably went to the wrong place. Try a 4 or 5 star place or another 4 or 5 star place next time.

Authentic sushi is just nigiri, maki and sashimi. All that other shyt like “Dynamite Rolls” or them joints that are deep fried with all them sauces on it was only created for the Americans.
