While surfing the web I came across this video
Which is a take on this full video if you dont trust the source of the original video (I cant keep track of who is written off as right wing or whatever)
Now one thing stuck out to me. Sweden denies being socialist at all. According to the video, they tried socialism in the 80s but the insane taxes caused rich people to flee and tax revenue to plummet. The taxes they collected weren't enough to fund the welfare state they promised.
They privatized public railways, broke up government backed monopolies, instituted school vouchers for children, lowered taxes, and eliminated the inheritance tax. They also privatized their pension system.
The spending cuts and privatization allowed once impoverished Sweden to grow into one of the richest countries in the world.
Sweden still has high taxes, but, and this may surprise you, but they tax low income earners more than other countries.
Now besides the high income taxes for regular people, Sweden sounds pretty damn libertarian to me. But people like our favorite couch surfing power bottom
@Ya' Cousin Cleon say libertarians are fascists that dont care about the poor, but also that places like sweden are places we need to emulate.
Is it oochie wallie or one mic?
Coli help me make sense of this
