NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — T.J. Maxx agreed to pay a $13 million fine for knowingly selling recalled infant sleepers that killed dozens of babies and 20 other recalled products.

Between March 2014 and October 2019, TJX Companies — the parent corporation that owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods — sold 21 different recalled products including two different two different deadly infant rockers.
Fisher-Price’s Rock n’ Play Sleepers led to at least 30 deaths according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission. A congressional report found more than 50 babies died from rolling over while unsecured in the rocking devices.

Fisher Price kept the deadly sleepers on the market for 10 years, despite knowing of the safety risks. The company made about $200 million from selling the faulty products.

T.J. Maxx continued to sell the sleepers even after they were finally recalled.
The discount store also carried another recalled infant sleeper, the Kids II Rocking Sleeper, that led to at least five infant deaths, according to the CPSC.

“We deeply regret that in some instances between 2014 and 2019, recalled products were not properly removed from our sales floors despite the recall processes that we had in place,” said TJX Companies in a statement to NBC. “We have made a significant investment in people, processes, and technology to strengthen our processes, and have cooperated fully with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Somebody just wanted easy money right quick :yeshrug:
That's what they sell, mostly reject clothing the companies didn't want to sell.

Yall don't notice those polo shirts are big, arms sleeve too long and seem to not be the same as when you buy from let's say Macy's or even polo themselves? How you think they sell them for cheaper?

they made 200 million from selling those recalled products but got fined 13 million :what:

a fine thats 6.5% of your revenue or income is just the cost of doing business.:martin:
That's why car manufacturers, drug companies, etc. Calculate to include the risk like this because they know that they still will make a huge profit

That's why it's cars on the road with known defects before they even left the lot
