Carmelo Anthony still leads NBA in playoff shots | ProBasketballTalk

We’re in the midst of the NBA Finals, and Carmelo Anthony, whose Knicks were eliminated in the second round, still leads the league in playoff shots.

Melo attempted 310 field goals in his 12 games before the Pacers eliminated the Knicks.

LeBron, who is in second place and 12 shots back will likely pass Melo in Game 2 of the Finals. For now, Melo has the lead despite playing five fewer playoff games than LeBron and scoring 91 fewer points.

Only Michael Jordan (1989 and 1990) and Elgin Baylor (1961) led a postseason in field-goal attempts without making the Finals, but if he works hard this offseason, maybe Melo can join that list next year.

Most overrated player in the last 10 years.

Overrated by who, stop saying that silly shyt.... I stay having to check yall nikkas.

So I'm gonna ask again overrated by who.

It's the same rhetoric in every Melo thread. Melo is overrated by a few knicks fans.

Melo is ranked as a top 10 to 15 player by pretty much everyone.

He had the best season of his career and was ranked 9th in league.

This isnt fair to Melo, the Knicks absolutely needed offense with JR Smith being out of it. There is literally no one other than them 2 capable of creating their own offense. When thats the case, shyt like this happens. Kobe in the 06-07 playoffs comes to mind. Iverson in 2000-2001 (dead-ass averaged 30 shots a game). McGrady that same year, averaged 30 shots a game. Melo averaged 25 shots a game in comparisson.

MJ playoff shot attempts average in playoffs: 31, 28, 26 4x, 27, 25

so yeah, I dont see the big deal. Melo's 25 fga is average compared to what other helpless stars have done in the playoffs.
