In this VladTV exclusive, Talib Kweli reflects on his verse on Kanye's debut album, his new projects and possible reunions with his old groups Black Star and Reflection Eternal.

While "Get Em High" remains a fan favorite from Kanye West's debut album College Dropout, Kweli says he was bothered for a few months after the track was released because it wasn't mixed well. He explains that Pro Tools was fairly new and when he sent in his vocals, they were placed on the wrong part of the beat. Despite his frustrations, he's made peace with the innocent mistake.

Speaking with VladTV before his surprise album F*** The Money was released on Friday, the rapper kept quiet about it and says he's focused on working with upcoming artists K'Valentine and NICO IS.

When asked about possible reunions with Black Star and Reflection Eternal, the rapper says he doesn't see Black Star dropping new music anytime soon, but he's teamed up with Hi-Tek for a few shows every year.

Mos Def has an allure about him...a mystery....he hasnt put a whole lot of material out so people still think highly of him as an artist and as an mc(backing down from Lupe aside)

Kweli has over saturated his self and has brought his overall worth down. he is the type of artist who is only strong as the people around him and his entire career he's needed someone whether its Mos, Hi Tek, or any random feature he's forced over the last decade. thats not to say Talib isnt good, hes just not the level of artist that Mos is and the people dont beg for another Kweli project like they do for Mos.

Kweli can say a Black Star album is coming but no one will really believe it until Yasiin confirms.

That "mystery" is overstated. His last album came out in 2009, of course people want a new project.

You say that Kweli has over saturated himself but I disagree. He's a rapper who puts out music. What else is he supposed to do? He tours all the time and make new music to keep his name out there. That's business. I disagree highly with him always needing someone. Is Mos' career booming at this point? Nope. What about Hi-Tek? This isn't a shot to either of them but Mos just said that he didn't want to battle but would rather file paperwork. Kweli has a strong solo catalog. I'd put it up against many others. You can't just brush off him backing down. Big time Mos fans on the Coli lost respect for that move.

Here's the thing, Kweli isn't hurting for a new Black Star album. It comes up because he entertains the question. As soon as he stops answering it, they'll stop asking him like they do Mos.
