GTOs are fun. However, they stopped making them in 06 (not 09), I think it had two versions, the LS1 5.7l and the LS2 6.0l; there isn't a 6.2l unless it was swapped in. Maybe the Craigslist ad you have is wrong, lol.

My suggestions....

If you want a gto, stay away from the 5.7.

6.0 >>>>>>>>>>5.7

6.0s are like 400hp stock. The speed difference is real. You'll regret the 5.7.

Aftermarket gtos can get scary fast, too. Throttle body, CAI, headers, cams, downpipe, etc. and your looking at at least 500 wrhp.

don't listen to these fools that don't know shyt about cars breh. LS motors are reliable, easy to fix, and fast. there's a reason its the most swapped motor into other platforms out breh. GTOs are Holden monaros from australia they are built much better than the previous Pontiacs. dont buy a 5.7 gto like msims said you'll regret it. just make sure it isn't beat to hell.

If you want me to talk you out of it, well :patrice: aside from the motor there is nothing impressive about the car at all when you consider what other 400hp cars bring to the table.

NOT LOOKING FOR LUXURY. I JUST WANT CHEAP AND FAST OUT OF THE BOX. I'LL PLAY WITH IT LATER ON.

The interiors on GTO's = :blessed:
The tires are also small as shyt.

Other than that they're solid. I bought a G8GT instead of a GTO, just because of how ugly the goats are.

Stock 4L60(LS) transmissions are faulty above 400rwhp, they break like eggshells. 6 speeds hold up much better for racing. New GTR's and the like are on another level, not even comparable.

I'll do you one better than some stills, here's a video of me and a buddy's Monte Carlo, Grudge Running at our resident track this past season. His homeboy doubled up when he saw my tires and still I came out with $400 :biggrin:


Theres tracks in Joliet(Route 66) and a resident track in Morocco and we go to that one because they aren't as strict.:manny:

I'm getting ready to go back out again in a few months with better tires/suspension.
I haven't done shyt to the inside of the car, still stock interior other than safety stuff.:yeshrug:
