This was OK. I think it's a bit overhyped. But Cate Blanchett obviously acted her ass off, and I appreciate the themes it tackled. It just felt a little bit too self-aware to the point where I wondered if the director was talking to the audience through the characters, which is something that sometimes annoy me, especially when it gets preachy. I'd give it a 7/10

It completely disengages the plot, and it seems to have become the norm; an advanced form of tell not show.

Watched last week with my girlfriend -

I thought it was a brilliant film with a few critical flaws, the most obvious being the director/writer's conservative axe to grind on a specific subset of social issues.

Aside from the scene at Julliard, the movie was virtual perfection
