Tarantino's a dikkhead, and he's wrong. Dano is a better actor than Butler, and that dynamic between Plainview and Eli doesn't work if Eli directly tries to step to him.
Eli was supposed to be that way. He was a scared man who fell back on religion because he couldn’t do anything else. He came back to Daniel begging for money, and was rightfully bludgeoned by a bowling pin.

Idk what to think of Dano. Sometimes I think he's great, sometimes he overacts like a mother fukker. Plus he has an annoying face to me for some reason
Dano playing both brothers was a misstep and confusing as hell the first time you watch it. I did think he was incredible in Escape at Dannemora with Benicio Del Toro, though.
An unnecessary dig at Dano for no reason.

Weird complaint. The performance mirrored a very specific type of evangelical/cultish person. If you've been around white Christians you def ran into someone who sounds like that.
