Quentin Tarantino has selected “The Hateful Eight” as the title for his next film, a Western that’s not a sequel to “Django Unchained.”
The project has not been cast yet, but insiders say Tarantino’s script includes a part for Christoph Waltz, who won Oscars starring in Tarantino’s last two films — “Django” and “Inglourious Basterds.”
Tarantino revealed two months ago during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” he would be doing a Western again.
He told Jay Leno, “I haven’t told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: It’s a western. I had so much fun doing ‘Django,’ and I love westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like ‘OK! Let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing.’”
“The Hateful Eight” — which suggests a possible homage to John Sturges’ “The Magnificent Seven — has not been set up at a studio. The Weinstein Co. and Sony partnered on “Django” while TWC and Universal teamed on “Basterds.”
Tarantino won screenplay Oscars for “Django Unchained” and “Pulp Fiction.”
News of the title selection was first reported by Deadline.com.

I just noticed Django's bounty hunter friend and the crazy Nazi German guy was played by the same dude. :ohhh: Incredible actor. :wow:
