$17 BILLION in profit.
$2 BILLION promised to Black businesses.
Target's offer to Black church leaders?

$300,000 — split 3 ways.
That breaks down to $322 per church.

They called it “partnership.”
Roland Martin called it what it is.

Target pledged $2B to Black-owned businesses. Then tried to quiet the boycott by paying:
- National Baptist Convention USA
- Church of God in Christ
- Missionary Baptist Convention
A combined $300K. That’s not justice. That’s hush money.

Roland Martin: “You took $300,000 from a $17B company—and had the nerve to send out a press release?”

He calculated it: $322 per church.
And they tried to spin it as “entrepreneurship support.”

Pastor Jamal Bryant: “$75,000 PER CONVENTION. That’s chump change.”
- Target walked around Black business leaders.
- Around boycott organizers.
- And handed cash to churches with zero economic track record.

MLK warned us in 1968: “We are collectively richer than most nations. That’s power — if we know how to pull it.”

Target tried to divide that power. And some pastors sold it for crumbs.

This is a betrayal! The Black church has moral weight — but Target tried to convert it into PR cover. We need economic warriors, not corporate proxies.

You can’t buy silence with $300K when $2 BILLION was promised.

Shout out to the pastors standing up.

Shame on the ones who signed off.

Watch Roland deconstruct the the blatant disrespect from Target and the group of Black church leaders who took $300k in cash and shamefully betrayed Black America
