He's created two incredibly influential social media campaigns in the last two weeks and he's blowing it right now: The #FirstThem hashtag about mainstream sexual abuse and his calls for better vetting against Kamala Harris with the #Tangibles2020

I'm generally a fan of his because he's entertaining and generally informative, but his political posturing comes at a time when he could use it for actual good.

Hate Roland Martin all you want, but he's very influential and has given a lot of black political leaders and connectors their start and is a crucial link between a lot of black audiences. I know this will surprise a lot of you, but Roland Martin is VERY influential with adults and college educated blacks, especially with HBCUs and black greek life. I can't tell you how important this is. Roland is still doing MSM and is building his independent audience. On top of that, Roland DOES represent and connect to black elites in a way that Tariq and Yvette Carnell and the AADOS youtube crowd DOES NOT. This is just a fact. You can't ignore that political reality.

What we do know is that we're ALL on the same page. We want more for ourselves and we want the best possible road map to getting it.

If Tariq really wants to be taken seriously, he'd be better served making connections and using his newfound relevance to actually get in those rooms and force people to the table to talk with him.

Critiquing leaders is very easy. Now's the time to DO something about it.

He needs to spend more time explaining his nuance, and stop making it so easy for people to not fully understand where he's coming from.

A LOT of people are watching him right now and its because he's independent. But he can't use it by beefing with everyone...and i completely understand that a lot of people have been attacking him on views about him that are flat out wrong. He's not helping himself if he can't more clearly express his views either. He might need to start writing more and leaving twitter aside if it keeps confusing what his real stance is.

His lack of CLARITY and DEFINITION is his enemy at the moment.

I don't think Tariq necessarily wants to be in the mainstream. We saw what happened when he went on Tucker Carlson. He looked like Keith Thurman in the 7th round. Naw, he's probably good with being on the web and Twitter. Less scrutiny, less exposure, less work.
Yes he does. He was upset with HULU, Netflix, PBS, etc for not allowing him to get Hidden Colors on TV.

He just wants it on his own terms.

Oh please, Roland Martin is fading away and his independent TV audience is not growing ( his last digital show only had 800 viewers in the first half our) on the other hand Tariq Nasheed painted the picture of Kamala so harshly that her campaign staff had to attack him, Afro punk ( extremely liberal) magazine has now called her out, glamour has called her out, MTV and Essence has called her out because of Tariq ringing the alarms on her Attorney general record.

Because of Tariq campaign, Within in two weeks Kamala has gone from runaway winner to articles saying how is she going to win the black vote. Her base is no longer as energized as they were two weeks ago.

Tariq doesn’t need mainstream validation nor does he need to gain with the AA elite (they have no real power) to get his point across. He’s serious enough to the point the Democratic Party has gone all out against him.

Tariq and Roland Martin are opposites so no, you’re not correct. Roland wants us to play the tired ol’ “Democrats are gonna save you” game while Tariq is saying “let’s do for self”. Those two are always gonna clash because their goal isn’t the same. Roland is looking for a White savior and Tariq isn’t.
