Now that the ADOS movement is gaining steam, I've begun listening more to the collective of Youtube personalities who're credited with being at the forefront of this resurgent demand for reparations - Yvette, Tone, Jason Black, and PBT. I can't help but think that of much Tariq's content pales in comparison to theirs. I still find him entertaining, believing he could be a stand up comedian if he so chose that detour in his career, but I think his scholarship is lacking in a way that's become undeniable when placed next to the aforementioned streamers.

I think he's an important figure who's paired a hustler's spirit with a militancy that speaks much needed truths you don't often hear from the mouths of prominent black people. His reach and social media savviness is invaluable in our fight, which is why I wish he would adopt a more academic mindset and sharpen his presentation somewhat.

Or maybe the ADOS movement has just put a battery in the back of Jason Black, because that brother is extremely entertaining - while informative - nowadays, more so than I recall him being in the past year. I've only recently included Yvette in my listening tastes. I used to be turned off by her shrill personality, but I dig it. She's the truth. Professor Black Truth is still my goto guy. He's almost flawless in his delivery.

Tariq have already told you nikkas numerous times that he is not a leader. :gucci:

He is about putting out information and that's it. :gucci:

I've always that Tariq is the most popular pro-black YouTuber/internet personality because he's entertaining. Tariq is definitely flawed when it comes to the other stuff you mentioned.

My point is, what information is he putting out? A lot of it is bare and thin on substance, compared to the breakdowns we receive from Yvette or JB or PBT or Tone. He's actually starting to become predictable and boring. :patrice:

Tariq should step it up? You mean the same Tariq who has released 5, soon to be 6 black history documentaries that are shown to black kids around the world?

The same Tariq with hundreds of free podcasts talking about the touch topics affecting our community?

The same Tariq who was on this wave 10 yrs ago before all these new folks got popular?

Some of us aren’t interested in the deliveries of the Yvettes and Tone Talks either.

Tariq keeps it entertaining while informing you on what’s going on.

How can you guys stand to listen to him? PBT is much better than Tariq, Tariq is just a better hustler with his $0 investment/100% profit business model.

I love listening to PBT, but I can understand how some might find him grating, since he doesn't hold punches and can come across as slightly judgmental. In that respect, he's a lot like Jason Black, though Jason is a lot funnier. Don't get me wrong, I think Tariq is great, a definite asset in the push for an independent black media that serves our informational needs. No question. I just believe he could broaden his audience if he honed his academic bona fides when streaming.

I litterally started subscribing because so many of my people play attention.

He's gonna know it ain't play time in a year.

Yvette/Tone really moving. They having their first conference this year. The movement really is moving.

Why the fukk isn't Tariq throwing conferences? I mean, damn, the brother could easily pack a theater in any major city. You have alt right clowns like Milo Snuffaluffagus speaking at colleges. Tariq could do the same and draw a much larger audience. :francis:

Agree with OP except the Yvette part

Still can’t take her :hubie:

I used to feel the same way about Yvette. But she's grown on me. My brother is the one who put me on to her, saying that she was dropping a lot of knowledge I wasn't getting from Tariq. He was right. She seems determined to derail the candidacy of any Democrat who isn't about reparations for ADOS, bringing the receipts and taking no prisoners. Her research game is on point. :francis:

Tariq brings information and a diff aspect to ados.

He was the one who brought up the akata word and he reminded folks since the 1970's some black immigrants changed and came from a diff route than garvey and carmicheal. so they weren't attached to ados black community the same way.

Tariq also learned from claude anderson and neely fuller to learn how white suprmacist do they racism.

and how me too and boule and blavity blacks help white suprmacist.

He not a scholar or ecomomist but ive learned alot listening to him ..hidden colors also taught indepth ways of how white suprmacy works.

So tariq is a good asset to have for ados.

Tone and yvette more the data scholar route
